Schaffhausen relies on SimplyNano for STEM promotion

The time has come, the successful SimplyNano 2 education project is coming to the canton of Schaffhausen and the registration portal for introductory courses is now open!

250 experiment kits for all Schaffhausen schools
The launch of the SimplyNano 2 project provides new impetus for Schaffhausen’s strong STEM landscape. Around 250 SimplyNano experiment kits will be available for all upper secondary schools in the canton from fall 2025. Teachers can now register for one of the two training courses on September 10 or 24, 2025. Participants will receive a thorough introduction to the SimplyNano 2 learning media, and their respective school will receive a complete class set of 12 to 15 experiment kits including all teaching materials that can be used immediately in the classroom.

Arouse curiosity – discover the future
The SimplyNano 2 learning media consist of an experiment kit with materials for 41 experiments as well as “ready-to-use” teaching and learning materials. The learning media enable versatile, interdisciplinary use in science lessons. Practical experiments can be used to clearly convey content from chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics. Everyday experiments get pupils excited about science and arouse their curiosity. The new learning media are presented to teachers in a half-day training course. The courses take place directly at regional technology companies. In addition to practical experimentation, teachers have the opportunity to get to know professional fields at close quarters and talk to experts from the vocational training sector.

Department of Education calls on STEM teachers at
The Department of Education of the Canton of Schaffhausen supports the STEM promotion project. In the current weekly letter, the Department of Education calls on all secondary schools to register at least one STEM teacher for the course. Following the course, each school will receive its own SimplyNano 2 class kit.

Thanks to the generous support of project partners (Jakob and Emma Windler Foundation and local companies), both the courses and all SimplyNano 2 learning media are free of charge for the schools. This makes an important contribution to the promotion of scientific and technical education and to strengthening the next generation of skilled workers in the canton of Schaffhausen.
