SimplyNano 2 project in the canton of Aargau
Since the 2018/19 school year, the SimplyNano 2 experiment kit has been used in the three achievement trains of the Aargauer Oberstufe as a cross-curricular learning medium to promote STEM and to encourage the next generation of specialists. The canton of Aargau is the first canton in Switzerland to use the learning medium across the board. A total of 550 experimental kits were made available to schools as part of the project. Accompanying this, interested teachers were trained as learning media at eight decentralized further training courses in schools or at companies. The project costs were financed by the lottery fund of the Canton of Aargau and half by foundations, associations, companies and the Swiss Nanoscience Institute (SNI) of the University of Basel. This made it possible to offer both the experimental kits and the continuing education courses for teachers free of charge. The SimplyNano 2 experiment kit is very popular with students and teachers.
